The Stem Flower Cliff Creeper is a woody large vine, with flattened stems and gray-brown color. The young branches are slightly flattened, with longitudinal ridges and no hair. The leaves are palmate with 5 small leaves, which are elliptical, elliptic-lanceolate, or obovate-elliptical in shape, green on the upper side and light green on the lower side, hairless on both sides; the inflorescence grows on the old stems, with a node at the base, bracts on the node, and clustering into an umbrella shape or dichotomously branched, with several flowers in a small umbrella shape at the top of the terminal branches; there are 4 petals, ovate; the fruit is elliptical or ovoid, the seeds are elliptical, with nearly rounded ends, compressed on the back and abdomen; flowering period is April, fruiting period is from June to December.
