Friends who grow grapes at home might have times when they have too many grapes to eat, and this is when making raisins is the easiest way to preserve them. Raisins can be eaten alone or added to yogurt and any desserts. The author likes to eat them in homemade ice cream, which is sweet and sour.
There are mainly 2 methods of making raisins: air-drying or sun-drying. Professional air-drying is rarely seen and is a peculiar method, but the raisins made from air-drying taste sweeter. Therefore, the author has brought out both methods here to see which one is more popular!
I. Sun-drying method to make raisins
1. Selecting raw materials
When selecting grapes for making raisins, it is best to choose those that are easier to process, such as grapes with thin skin and soft flesh. Friends who have certain standards for their "works" can also select large and good-looking grapes.
Note: Grapes that are about to split or already ripe and split are not suitable for making raisins!

2. Separating clusters
Ordinary clusters of grapes have many berries, which is not conducive to making raisins. Therefore, it is best to separate them into small branches, with the number of grapes spread out on one layer of the drying tray.
3. Soaking in alkali solution
This step is to speed up the production of raisins and make the evaporation of moisture in the grapes faster. Soak them in a low-concentration sodium hydroxide solution for about 5 seconds, then immediately wash the grapes clean. This can make it possible to enjoy raisins 10 days earlier!
4. Sunbathing
Place the grapes on the drying tray and put them in the sunniest spot on the balcony. After about ten days, you can take them out to check. If the top is dry, you can turn the grapes over.
When there is no more juice that can be squeezed out of the grapes, they can be dried normally. This process takes about 20 days.
