Yunnan Mockorange is a shrub, 2-4 meters tall; biennial branches are grayish-brown or gray, annual branches are purple-brown, hairless, often covered with white powder. The leaves are oblong-lanceolate or ovate-lanceolate, the upper surface is covered with糙糙pubescent hair, the lower surface is densely covered with gray slightly curved pubescent hair; the inflorescence is racemose, appearing corymbose or racemose; the calyx is purple-red or reddish-brown, hairless on the outside, often covered with white powder; the corolla is disc-shaped, the petals are white, nearly round or broadly obovate; the fruit is obovate, the seeds have slightly long tails. The flowering period is from June to August, and the fruiting period is from September to November.
