The hydroponic method for growing a lucky bamboo plant
Today, I will introduce some knowledge about hydroponic flowers, specifically the hydroponic method for growing a lucky bamboo plant. If there are any mistakes, please feel free to correct them!
Recently, I've noticed that many flower enthusiasts are fond of hydroponic lucky bamboo. Therefore, this article combines the experience of many flower enthusiasts to discuss the specific method of hydroponic lucky bamboo. Research has shown that the lucky bamboo, native to tropical regions, has a strong root-forming ability and adapts well to the aquatic environment. Through cultivation and acclimatization, it is an excellent plant for hydroponic ornamental purposes.
How to acclimatize a soil-grown or substrate-grown lucky bamboo to hydroponic conditions? First, you need to choose good materials. Since hydroponic ornamental plants don't change much in their aerial parts, to obtain an ornamental product with good aesthetics, the plant form must meet the aesthetic needs. Therefore, select plants that are well-formed, strong-growing, free of diseases and pests, and have good ornamental value. Of course, if you start training from seedlings, that would be a different story.
The next step is the most critical one—developing a type of root system that can survive and grow in water.
Specific steps are as follows:
1. Remove the plant from the substrate, wash the roots clean with tap water, and剪除 (cut off) all the original soil-grown roots from the base of the stem;
2. Soak the base of the stem in a 1500-fold solution of carbendazim or thiophanate-methyl for 10 to 15 minutes, which can eliminate some pathogenic bacteria;
3. Soak the base of the stem in a 200mg/L NAA solution for 10 to 30 minutes.
4. After drying, place the lucky bamboo in a hydroponic planting basket and secure it with pebbles or stones. Start the cultivation process, making sure the water level in the hydroponic system is not too high, just reaching the base of the lucky bamboo plant is best. It should take about 10 days for roots to form.
The method of hydroponic cultivation of the lucky bamboo plant shared above is for reference and suggestion.
