The Violet Orchid is an epiphytic highland plant, a sympodial orchid with creeping rhizomes, pseudobulbs that are oblate to elongated-oval; it has two to three terminal leaves, which are papery. The raceme inflorescence is axillary at the base of the pseudobulb, with an elegant plant shape and beautiful flower colors. It is highly ornamental, suitable for potting, especially for hanging basket cultivation. It does not tolerate extreme heat in summer and prefers cool temperatures.
