Tree-shaped Rose Grafting Technique, the technology of grafting roses into a tree shape.

Tree Rose Grafting Technique

A small plant knowledge, introducing everyone to the rose tree roses, rose knowledge, tree rose grafting technique, the specific content is as follows:

There are natural tree-like roses and common tree-like roses. If grafting techniques are used, it is possible to quickly cultivate lush and leafy tree-like roses. However, many flower friends cannot master the grafting technique of tree roses. Please see the following text:

I. The cultivation of rootstocks:

The rootstock varieties can be selected from varieties such as Flower Flag Vine and Pink Pompon Rose. It is necessary to use large rootstocks that are more than two years old, which require vigorous growth, well-developed root systems, and no diseases or pests. After cutting flat before winter, several strong branches will sprout the following year, which will be used for grafting.

II. Grafting and Management:

Grafting Methods:

(1) Select a strong vertical branch from among the bushy branches. From June to August, perform a "T" shaped bud graft at 1 meter above the ground. After the grafting survives, do not cut the rootstock, and cut it after the leaves fall. Cut off all the ungrafted branches and protect the grafted branches from the cold, preferably wrapped in straw or plastic sheeting or covered with a plastic bag. In the following year, cut the top,剪除 the rootstock above the grafted bud to promote the germination and growth of the grafted bud. At the same time, remove all buds that sprout from the rootstock. Install a vertical support stick close to the rootstock to prevent it from being blown over by the wind. After the grafted bud germinates and grows, remove the flower buds to promote secondary branching. When the secondary branches grow to a certain length and differentiate flower buds, they should also be removed to promote branching on the secondary branches. After a growing season of branching and growth, an umbrella or crown-shaped tree form can be formed. Meanwhile, the main stem also thickens.

(2) After the above rootstock cultivation, select a strong and upright rose variety as the scion, and bud graft it at the base of the strong rootstock in autumn. In the following spring, cut the top to promote the vertical growth of the grafted bud. At the same time, cut off the sprouting buds of the rootstock. When the vertical branch grows more than 1.5 meters, perform the second grafting at 1 meter high. After the grafting survives, follow the above method to remove the flower buds and promote branching, thus forming a good tree crown.

III. Rose Variety Selection:

For making tree-like roses, it is best to select varieties with relatively weak branches as scions, such as multiflora roses, double flowers roses, etc., so that the branches can extend and droop slightly, forming an umbrella, ball, or weeping willow-shaped crown. Alternatively, several varieties can be grafted. First form a main stem during the rootstock cultivation, cut it at 1 meter, and let it branch out. Then, bud graft different varieties on different branches, so that a single rose plant can bloom with flowers of various colors.

But be aware that some varieties grow strongly while others grow weakly. It is best to graft varieties with similar growth habits on the same plant to facilitate pruning and flower control, making the flowers look better and bloom longer.

The above is a specific introduction to the tree rose grafting technique, hoping to bring some flower knowledge to flower enthusiasts.
