Do you know these? Here is an explanation on how to grow succulents to make them flourish and seven basic tips for caring for green plants and flowers, let's take a look together!

We always carefully nurture each succulent, just like raising our children, but actually, they are not as fragile as we imagine, it's just that we love them too much!

Below, I will share my experience in growing succulents with you, hoping it helps you!

1. Ventilation. Good air circulation is very important for succulents, so try to keep them outdoors as much as possible. If they are kept in a sealed environment for a long time, they will become wilted and lack vitality, and it's the same for people. When growing succulents indoors, open windows more often, and use a small fan during the hot summer.

2. Temperature. The most suitable temperature for succulents to grow is between 15-25°C. In summer, if the temperature exceeds 35°C, or in winter, if it drops below 5°C, most succulents will enter a dormant or semi-dormant state. During this period, try not to disturb them. Moreover, the greater the temperature difference, the better the condition of the succulents.

3. Light. Succulents enjoy sunny weather, and if they can receive 8-10 hours of sunlight every day, it is ideal, and the succulents will look very beautiful. If such conditions are not available, 3-5 hours of sunlight is also acceptable. However, be aware that stronger light is not always better; the sunlight at noon in summer can be deadly, so some shading is necessary. Also, after buying a succulent, there should be a gradual process when bringing it home, and it should not be exposed to strong sunlight all at once.

4. Watering. At the beginning, you may not be able to grasp it, so you can water them regularly, once every 5-7 days in spring and autumn, every 15-20 days in summer, and every 20-30 days in winter. Later on, you can gradually figure out the habits of the succulents and change the watering method. For instance, if the leaves become soft or wrinkled, or the bottom leaves start to wilt, these are signals of insufficient water, and it's time to water them. After watering, make sure to ventilate.

In addition, you need to understand the dormant habits of different succulents. Do not water too much during the dormant period, or the plants may easily rot.

5. Soil. Succulents prefer dry soil, so loose and breathable sandy soil is most suitable for their growth. When you buy a pot of succulents, the first thing to do is check the soil. If it's yellow clay or soil with a very strong black organic matter, you must change it.

The simplest soil mixing method: 1 part peat soil and 1 part coarse sand. If there is no coarse sand, you can use the residue from burned honeycomb coal instead, but the coal residue should be washed and crushed before use.

6. Pots. Succulents can be grown in black square pots, ceramic pots, earthenware pots, or purple sand pots. Black square pots are cheap and lightweight but not wear-resistant; earthenware and ceramic pots are breathable and water-resistant, and they don't mind being watered too much, but they become very heavy after absorbing water, so the flower stand must be very sturdy; purple sand pots are also breathable but expensive, and you should note that the pot walls should not be too thick, as thick ones have a similar breathability to porcelain pots.
