Properties of Western Blue Echeveria Plant
Chinese Name: Xishi Blue (Pinyin) Alias Latin Name: Echeveria western blue Genus: Crassulaceae, Simulated Stone Lotus Genus Origin and DistributionIntroduction to Western Blue Echeveria Plant
Western Blue Echeveria is a succulent plant of the Crassulaceae family, Simulated Stone Lotus genus, a small variety with smooth leaf surfaces and a slight white powder. The leaves are blue or white-blue, with translucent edges that look like white borders. The plant is particularly charming with the slight white powder on the leaves, and the leaf tips will turn red during the dormant period.
Western Blue Echeveria has an average growth rate and is a perennial plant with small semi-woody stems that do not grow tall easily. Young plants do not like to grow lateral buds, and only after flowering as mature plants will they produce a large number of lateral buds. Clumping Western Blue Echeveria is very beautiful, with inverted bell-shaped flowers that have five petals and are pollinated by separate plants. Western Blue Echeveria requires plenty of sunlight and a cool, dry environment, is tolerant of partial shade, but afraid of waterlogging and dislikes humid heat. It has the habit of growing in cool seasons and dormant in high summer temperatures. The growing period of the plant is from September to November and from March to June of the following year (the growing period varies depending on the environment of the plant enthusiasts). Insufficient light will cause the plant leaves to elongate, while plants growing in full sunlight will have a compact, short, and sturdy growth habit.
