How to plant succulents

Today, I will introduce how to plant succulents and the correct planting steps for green plants and flowers. Next, a comprehensive introduction will follow.

Believe it or not, most flower lovers, like myself, start with a very cute succulent as their first pot plant. Succulents have always captured the hearts of countless flower lovers with their adorable appearance. However, succulents are not as easy to care for as many flower lovers imagine. It can be challenging for新手 gardeners to successfully raise them. Today, I am here to share 5 small experiences I have had caring for my succulents, hoping they can help you all!

1. Soil

Succulents prefer to grow in dry soil environments, mainly in loose and breathable sandy soil, as this type of soil has better drainage and breathability, making it more suitable for succulent growth. Also, when you buy succulents from the flower market, it's best to choose a warm day to change the potting soil for them, as the soil that comes with them is not very suitable for their healthy growth.

2. Temperature

One of the most important aspects of caring for succulents is ensuring a suitable growth temperature. Generally speaking, 15 to 25 degrees Celsius is the most suitable for their growth. However, as long as the temperature does not exceed 35 degrees or fall below 5 degrees, most succulents will not enter a dormant period and will continue to grow normally.

However, when ensuring the temperature is suitable, it's also important to ensure good ventilation when caring for succulents. Otherwise, if they grow in a stuffy and hot environment for a long time, they will become very unspirited and affect their ornamental value.

3. Watering

Succulent leaves are relatively thick and have some water storage capacity, so their water requirements are not high. Generally, you can water them more frequently in spring and autumn, about once a week, every two weeks in summer, and once a month in winter. Flower lovers should also summarize their watering experience based on the actual situation of their succulents. Signs of dehydration, such as withered and soft leaves, indicate the need for watering, and thorough watering can gradually help them recover.

4. Light

Succulents also have certain requirements for light. They enjoy sunny weather, and if gardeners can ensure they receive more than 8 hours of sufficient sunlight every day, the succulents at home will grow very beautifully. Therefore, during spring, autumn, and winter, you can simply place them on a south-facing balcony or windowsill for care.

However, in summer, you need to provide some shade for them, as too much sunlight can burn their leaves, preventing them from growing healthily, or even threatening their lives.
