Chinese Name: Ebony, Alias: Latin Name: Echeveria agavoides 'Ebony', Family: Crassulaceae, Genus: Echeveria, Origin and Distribution: Horticultural varietyEcheveria 'Ebony' Plant Introduction
Echeveria 'Ebony' is a succulent plant belonging to the Crassulaceae family and Echeveria genus. It is also phonetically called ' Ebony' and is commonly known as 'Ebony'. It is a medium to large-sized horticultural variety with smooth leaves that are relatively wide. The leaf edges turn red and purple, and under strong sunlight, the color appears dark purple. The stem of 'Ebony' is thick and sturdy, gradually thickening with growth. The leaves are densely arranged in a rosette shape, from broadly ovate to scattered triangular ovate, with the back slightly raised and resembling a keel, and the leaf tips are pointed. The leaf color is grayish-green to white-gray throughout the year. Under large temperature differences between day and night or low temperatures in winter, the leaf edges to the tips can turn deep purple or brown red. In low light conditions, the leaf edges are light purple red, and the leaves are relatively elongated. The purple-red edges of the old leaves remain more than half of the year, and only the new leaves have red tips. The leaf surface is smooth and does not easily accumulate water. 'Ebony' requires ample sunlight for the leaf color and edges to be vibrant, and the plant shape to be more compact and attractive. After many years of clustering, the plant can become very spectacular, producing branched inflorescences with slightly yellow flowers that have red tips and five lobes.
