Narcissus is a plant that we often see in our lives. Narcissus prefers warm, humid, and well-drained conditions with plenty of sunlight and has a strong vitality. Next, we will introduce in detail from two aspects: planting methods and precautions.
1. Hydroponic Planting
If you want to grow narcissus hydroponically, you need to select healthy narcissus with no damage to the epidermis, clean them, and peel off the outer skin of the narcissus to expose its tender buds. Make a vertical cut on the sides of the top of the narcissus bulb that does not grow small bulbs, to a depth of one-third of the bulb, only cutting the bulb scales, be sure not to injure the tender leaf buds. Then soak for about two days. On the third day, you can place it in a disinfected container, adding water to cover one-third of the narcissus bulb. Also, the roots need to be cleaned, and the old roots at the bottom of the narcissus should be cut off.
2. Soil Planting
Soil planting of narcissus is generally carried out in October to November. Use a ceramic pot and then fill it with fertile and loose soil. Peel off the withered bulb scales of the narcissus head, remove some old and weak roots, and then plant it in the soil, with a depth of 1-2 centimeters, and finally place it in a cool and ventilated place to wait for root formation.
3. Precautions
The newly planted narcissus needs to change the water once a day. When the narcissus bud forms, the water needs to be changed once a week, and a small amount of nutrient solution can also be added to supplement the nutrients for the narcissus. Change the water promptly when it becomes cloudy. During the day, place the narcissus in a place with plenty of sunlight, and at night, pour out the water from the pot placed indoors to prevent the leaves from growing excessively. Add clean water the next day.
No fertilizer is needed to raise narcissus; tap water can meet the daily growth requirements of narcissus. The temperature for planting narcissus should not be too high or too low, generally maintaining 10℃-20℃ in the early stage, and suitable for growth in a place with a temperature of 20℃-25℃ later. Narcissus prefers a well-lit environment, and insufficient light may affect the growth of narcissus.
