1. Hydroponic Cultivation
If you want to hydroponically cultivate narcissus, you should choose healthy narcissus bulbs with intact skin, clean them thoroughly, peel off the outer skin of the narcissus, expose its tender buds, make a vertical cut on both sides of the top of the bulb without the small bulbs, to a depth of one-third of the bulb. Only the bulb scales should be cut, and the tender leaf buds must not be injured. Then soak them for about two days. On the third day, place it in a disinfected container, adding water to cover one-third of the narcissus bulb. Also, the roots need to be cleaned, trimming the old roots at the bottom of the narcissus.
2. Soil Cultivation
Soil cultivation of narcissus is usually carried out in October to November. Use a ceramic pot, then fill it with fertile and loose soil, peel off the dry bulb scales of the narcissus head, remove some of the old and weak roots, and plant it in the soil, with a depth of 1-2 centimeters, and finally place it in a cool and well-ventilated place to wait for it to root.
3. Precautions
The newly planted narcissus needs to change water once a day. When the flower buds form, it is necessary to change the water once a week, and a small amount of nutrient solution can also be added to supplement the nutrients for the narcissus. Change the water promptly when it becomes turbid. During the day, place the narcissus in a place with abundant sunlight, and at night, pour out the water from the pot and place it indoors to prevent the leaves from growing too long. Add clean water the next day.
Cultivating narcissus does not require fertilizer, as clean water can meet the daily growth needs of narcissus. The temperature for planting narcissus should not be too high or too low, generally maintaining 10°C-20°C in the early stage, and suitable for growth in a temperature range of 20°C-25°C later on.
