The Spider Orchid is a perennial herb with a spherical stem underground; the leaves grow in clusters, with short petioles, long, sword-shaped, soft, succulent leaves that are deep green and glossy. It blooms in summer, producing a flat and round flower scape from the base, with white, star-shaped flowers that are pure, fragrant, and have a slender, elongated flower tube and thin, thread-like petals. It prefers warm and humid conditions with ample light. It is not particular about soil, but a sandy loam soil rich in humus, loose, fertile, and well-draining is ideal. The bulbs are toxic, and ingestion can cause vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, and headaches. It is an excellent choice for garden and indoor decorations, especially suitable for night gardens.
