1. Planting Time
The planting time for narcissus is usually from September to October every year. The climate and temperature during this period meet the growth requirements of narcissus. Planting narcissus at this time will result in blooming before the end of the year. By the second year, the leaves will start to turn yellow in May and the plant will enter a dormant period in June.
2. Soil Cultivation Method
The soil used for soil cultivation of narcissus should be loose, fertile, and rich in humus. Before planting, remove the dried scales from the outside of the narcissus bulbs, then insert the plant into the soil about 1 centimeter deep, water thoroughly, and place the pot in a shady place for maintenance. Water again when the potting soil dries out, keeping the soil moist.
3. Water Cultivation Method
Before water cultivation, also trim and clean the old stem slices and old roots of the narcissus. Add water to a glass container until the bulb of the narcissus head is about 1 centimeter below, place it in a shady place for maintenance, and then place it in a place with diffused light after the plant has grown roots. It is best to change the water every day to prevent water from becoming stagnant and causing root rot.
4. Later-stage Maintenance
During the maintenance process, control the indoor temperature to about 25°C, otherwise the narcissus will enter a dormant state due to low temperature; ensure sufficient lighting, as insufficient light will cause poor growth and development of the plant; and finally, be diligent in changing the water to prevent root infections due to poor water quality.
