Orchids have an elegant posture, sophisticated leaf shapes, and a delicate fragrance, making them beloved by people throughout history. The cultivation history of orchids in our country spans over 1000 years, with the most common varieties including春兰 (Spring Orchid), 建兰 (Jian Orchid), 蕙兰 (Huì Orchid), 寒兰 (Cold Orchid), and 墨兰 (Black Orchid), among others.

Spring Orchid: As the name suggests, its blooming period is mainly in spring. Indeed, spring orchids mostly bloom from January to March, sometimes a bit earlier or later, with an unpredictable blooming period. The leaf edges are rough and the veins are clear, with a length of about 30-45 centimeters. The roots are tender and white like snow. The flowers have a strong fragrance.

Huì Orchid: Also known as 夏兰 (Summer Orchid) or 九节兰 (Nine Node Orchid), the blooming period is usually from March to May, lasting two to three months. The roots of Huì orchids are flesh-colored and light yellow, the leaves are wider than those of spring orchids, the veins are not obvious, and they have a high luster. The leaves are generally 25-30 centimeters long. The flowers are abundant, with one inflorescence capable of producing 5-12 flowers. The fragrance is fresh and elegant, lighter than that of spring orchids.

Jian Orchid: Also known as 秋兰 (Autumn Orchid), with thick and short fleshy roots, the leaves are shorter than those of spring orchids but wider. The total inflorescence has 6-10 flowers, with a fresh fragrance and a long blooming period, among which the Jian orchid can bloom for seven to eight months throughout the year.

Cold Orchid: Also known as 冬兰 (Winter Orchid), the leaves are thin and long but have good upright posture. The flower stems are relatively long, with most having 5-8 flowers per stem. The colors are rich, the plant shape is elegant, and the fragrance is strong, usually blooming from the Winter Solstice to early spring.

Black Orchid: The leaves are wide and short, glossy and dark in color. The flower stems have good posture, standing tall and fresh, with one inflorescence capable of producing 5-10 flowers. The fragrance is strong, usually blooming from New Year's Day to the Lantern Festival. It is also known as the Spring Orchid, suitable for autumn and winter care, and has become a popular flowering plant in the past two years, relatively easy to care for and affordable.
