How to grow orchids to achieve a full bloom
A detailed introduction on how to grow orchids to achieve a full bloom and an explanation of orchid cultivation precautions, with specific tips as follows:
Many flower enthusiasts are very fond of growing orchids. I also love orchids and have several different orchid varieties at home. The other day, a flower friend asked why my orchids at home still haven't bloomed, waiting through an entire winter, hoping to enjoy the flowers in spring, but no buds were seen. Today, I will share with everyone the main reasons why orchids may not bloom.
1. Variety issue
Firstly, if we want orchids to bloom normally in spring, we need to choose orchid varieties with a blooming period in spring. For example, the commonly cultivated large-flowered cymbidium,春兰 (Spring orchid), black orchid, and New Year's orchid all bloom in spring.
If you happen to be growing orchids that bloom in autumn or winter, it might be difficult to see flowers in spring. Therefore, identifying the correct variety is a primary task.
2. Orchid seedlings too small
If you want orchids to bloom according to their normal blooming period, you must allow the orchids to grow to a certain age before they can bloom. After all, orchids need to grow before they can bloom properly. Some flower friends may have bought orchid seedlings directly from the flower market, and they might not know the age of the seedlings they bought when they first started growing orchids, which can lead to impatience and not seeing flowers.
How to grow orchids to achieve a full bloom
First of all, when growing orchids, we need to have the right mindset, not to be in a hurry, and not to be anxious. Because growing orchids is a good time for us to cultivate our character. Flower friends who buy orchid seedlings at home must take their time to care for them properly, only then can they bloom beautifully.
3. Insufficient nutrients
Spring is naturally the fastest growing season for flowers. After not fertilizing or watering throughout the winter, we need to give the orchids a good supplement in spring. We can use some well-rotted rice water, as orchids prefer slightly acidic soil. Well-rotted rice water can adjust the soil pH to make it slightly acidic.
Besides rice water, we can also use some well-rotted organic fertilizer for the flowers, which can be used together when repotting. This way, there won't be a lack of fertilizer during the blooming period.
