How to plant indoor Gastrodia elata
About the knowledge of how to plant indoor Gastrodia elata and the methods and steps of Gastrodia elata cultivation, it's very good experience and knowledge, it is recommended to collect it!
I. Sowing Time
From late October to late May of the following year, it can be cultivated indoors, such as abandoned schools, grain management stations, old houses or greenhouses, caves, basements, garages, air raid shelters, staircases, and balconies.
II. Preparing Materials Before Planting The following procedures are the same as the efficient cultivation technology of Gastrodia elata in indoor plastic boxes
1. Homemade wooden box. The local carpenter is asked to make a wooden box with the inner space specifications of: 50 cm long and wide, 37 cm high; or an iron box made of steel; various specifications of bamboo baskets or old baskets used to pack oranges in the fruit market, Styrofoam boxes, old plastic boxes from breweries, different specifications of boxes should calculate the increase or decrease in the amount of seeds according to the size of the box. Brick and wood structure model: bricklaying, surrounding码rung bricks as baffles, middle board partitioned brick and wood structure, can be立体4~5 layers of planting, also can use angle iron to weld into a 4-layer shelf, such factory-like立体 cultivation of Gastrodia elata can save space and facilitate centralized management, more showing the effect of air立体 agriculture.
2. According to the size specifications of the wooden box mentioned above, the planting of one box is explained. If it is a wooden box or plastic box of other sizes, the length of the wood can be flexibly determined according to the size of the current specification of the wooden box.
① Wood: Any杂 wood except pine and cedar, about 4 cm in diameter, cut into 6 lengths of 30 cm, 3 lengths of 25 cm, called short sticks, each end of each stick is cut diagonally (scale mouth), each end holds a枝菌种; diameter 5~15 cm, diameter more than 8 cm above the wooden stick, to be split in half, cut into 10 lengths of 45~50 cm, called long stick, each cut 3~4 diagonal cuts, only one side, to the extent of wood layer; thin branches.
② Gastrodia elata 0-generation original seeds: 26 large seeds the size of a thumb, about 36 small seeds.
③ Branch honey ring fungus spawn: 0.75 kg, about 50 pieces, divided into two parts (or cultivate the spawn with spawn 2~6 months in advance).
④ Sand. 1 cubic meter of sand for planting 50 boxes.
⑤ Pine needles: 0.5 kg, mixed with some leaves is fine. Ground leaves: dry 0.5 kg, wet 1 kg, cut into small pieces with a knife, or use a shredder, remove the screen and powder into small pieces. Pine needles are pre-moistened for 5 minutes to two months, leaves are pre-moistened for half a day to two months, both can be used at any time.
⑥ Spray bottle: or a spray bottle.
⑦ Site: Any ground is fine, such as soil, cement, ceramic tile, etc. It doesn't matter if the indoor and outdoor environment is dirty, because Gastrodia elata grows in sand, it doesn't need photosynthesis, doesn't need chlorophyll synthesis, and doesn't need to spray, weeding, or fertilizing. Gastrodia elata only needs to spray water on the surface sand or pine needles every 7 to 15 days, one person can manage about 1,000 boxes in业余 time. It's just that planting and harvesting require concentrated labor, and usually just need to be watched.
III. Box Loading Procedure.
Place a layer of sand or pine needles about 5 cm thick at the bottom of the box, lay a layer of long sticks close together, with the cut side up, fill the gaps with sand, sprinkle a little water, broadcast one part of the branch spawn, the spawn spacing is about 6 cm, sprinkle a thin layer of leaves, the thickness is enough to cover the spawn, place 3 short sticks of 30 cm in length in the opposite direction to the long sticks, with spawn slots facing both sides, evenly spaced between the sides of the box, each short stick placing 2 large hemp seeds on both sides, i.e., 12 large hemp seeds or 18 small hemp seeds are sown in 3 sticks; the hemp seeds are placed in a crisscross pattern like plum blossoms, sprinkle a layer of leaves to cover the hemp seeds, then sprinkle a layer of pine needles or fill sand to just cover the short stick skin, then place another 3 short sticks of 30 cm in length overlapping the lower short sticks to increase the height and space for large Gastrodia elata growth, fill the gaps with pine needles or sand to level with the short stick skin, sprinkle a little water, sprinkle a thin layer of leaves, place the long sticks, the cut side up, broadcast the branch spawn, sprinkle leaves to cover the spawn as the first layer, then place 3 short sticks of 25 cm in length evenly spaced in the opposite direction to the long sticks, first place 1 large hemp seed at each end of each stick, 1 large hemp seed or 2 small hemp seeds on both sides of the stick, and 1 more hemp seed on the stick near the box side, i.e., 14 large hemp seeds in this layer, sprinkle leaves to cover the hemp seeds, then cover with pine needles to level with the short stick surface, cover with thin branches 3~5 cm thick, then fill the thin branch gaps or level with the box surface with sand, spray water to wet the sand layer thoroughly, some sand will fall into the thin branch gaps, need to supplement some sand to level the box surface, the cultivation is completed. The stacking method of the box: Place 4 half-bricks flat at the 4 corners of the box, i.e., each box is separated by bricks about 5.3 cm high at the 4 corners, and stack the boxes one by one. The boxes filled with pure sand are heavier, about 70 kg per box, generally stacked 4 layers high, 20 square meters of indoor space can stack 150~200 boxes, the boxes filled with pine needles for moisture retention are lighter, about 30 kg, can be stacked up to 8 layers high, 20 square meters of indoor space can stack 300~400 boxes.
IV. Temperature and Humidity Management After Assembly.
1. Water Control. The 2 cm thick layer of sand or pine needles on top of each box is the water observation point. If the 2 cm thick layer of sand or pine needles is dry, hold the outlet of the tap with your hand, the space between the bricks separating the boxes is the spray hole, spray directly into it, or use a spray bottle to wet the surrounding area of the box. Wet the two cm thick layer of sand thoroughly each time, and if the sand falls when watering, supplement it to maintain the original state. Don't worry about unevenness, nor worry about too much or too little watering, this is our accumulation of experience over the years.
2. Temperature Control. In areas with an altitude of 500 meters or more, there is no need to consider artificial temperature control, just rely on natural climate. But in hilly areas below 500 meters and plain areas like ours with only 35 meters of altitude, temperature control is the key to success. The easiest method: ① Air conditioning, 1.2~1.5 horsepower for 200 boxes in 15 square meters. Mainly used for two months of high temperature in summer, when the temperature is below 28 degrees on cloudy and rainy days, the air conditioner can be turned off. Insert a thermometer into the box, maintain between 16℃ and 26℃ as the best, ensure above 5℃ in winter, and let Gastrodia elata hibernate below 10℃.
V. Prevention of Gastrodia elata Diseases.
During the high temperature season, use gauze doors and windows to prevent flies, insects, and rats from spreading pathogens, and spray "insecticidal aerosol" (available in supermarkets) in the room regularly. The main disease of Gastrodia elata is tuber rot, which is caused by poor climate environment, such as high humidity caused by high temperature, which is not conducive to the growth of Gastrodia elata but favorable for the overgrowth of honey ring fungus. When the complex bacteria and honey ring fungus erode Gastrodia elata together, it causes digestion resistance, resulting in烂种 or empty shell of Gastrodia elata. The main prevention is to lower the temperature, there is no medicine to cure. Another reason is the weak vitality of multi-generation seeds and multi-generation spawn, which lack resistance to complex bacteria and growth advantage. Just buy the original generation, 0-generation seeds, and pure honey ring fungus spawn.
VI. Harvesting and Expanding Boxes.
It can be harvested from the end of October every year to the following April. When harvesting, turn the Gastrodia elata box over and pour out the culture material, pick out and grade the size, and store the seeds under 5℃~16℃ semi-moist sand or soil for one month without spoilage. Or plant as you harvest, and plant in expanded boxes according to the previous method. Generally, each box (half a square meter) can harvest 3.5 kg of fresh Xianpin arrow, and about 2 kg of first-generation seeds.
VII. Processing Dried Products.
Divide the harvested fresh hemp into large, medium, and small grades, boil the large hemp over 3.5 ounces in boiling water for 20 minutes, the medium hemp for 10 minutes, and the small hemp for 5 minutes, then soak in tap water or well water until the hemp heart cools, change the water frequently to keep the hemp water cold. Dry in a dryer, sun-dry, or refer to the drying methods of tobacco leaves, mushrooms, and black fungus. When two Gastrodia elata knock together and the cross-section is like a glass mirror, it is a dried product. (The above information is for reference only)
