Thai Plumeria is a shrub or small tree, reaching a height of 6 meters, with branches spreading out, and leaves opposite. The cymose inflorescence is terminal on small branches, blooming elegant flowers from spring to autumn. The petals are 5, shaped like plum blossoms, and the fragrance is stronger after rain or in humid conditions, hence the name Water plum blossom. The follicles are linear, with two opposite, resembling pods; the seeds are inverted with white silky hairs at the tip. Due to its good branching, dense foliage, and fragrant flowers, it is an excellent species for making bonsai and is often sculpted into various patterns for landscaping in parks. The roots and leaves are used for medicinal purposes, with the roots treating skin diseases and the leaves having analgesic and hypotensive effects.
