The Green Leaf Creeper is a woody vine. Young branches are cylindrical or with distinct longitudinal ridges, initially pubescent, later glabrous. Leaves are opposite, tendrils at the tip are swollen and knobbly when young, later expanding into suckers when they encounter something to attach to. The leaves are palmate with 5 small leaflets, the leaflets are obovate-elliptic or obovate-lanceolate, the upper surface is deep green and glabrous, prominently convex with a bubble-like appearance, the lower surface is light green, with short pubescence on the veins; compound cymes are paniculate, often with degenerate leaflets in the inflorescence; petals are elliptic; fruits are spherical, flowering period is July-August, fruiting period is September-November.
