How to Care for Jasmine

Ⅰ. Jasmine Cultivation Methods
1. Soil Preparation
The soil should have good water retention, drainage, and aeration. It can be mixed with humus soil, garden soil, river sand, and cake fertilizer in a ratio of 4:3:2:1, or with humus soil, sandy loam, and cake fertilizer in a ratio of 5:4:1. Before filling the pot with soil, you can first put a layer of bone meal at the bottom of the pot.
2. Watering
Watering jasmine should be adjusted according to the month. In spring, water every 2-3 days; in summer, water once a day, and also spray the leaves 1-2 times a day; in autumn, water every 1-2 days; and in winter, keep the soil slightly moist, usually watering once every 5-7 days.
3. Fertilizing
Fertilizing should be frequent with thin fertilizer, with a concentration of 10-15%, approximately every 5-7 days. When fertilizing, dilute the cake fertilizer into a fertilizer solution and then add 0.1-0.2% monopotassium phosphate to the solution to promote bud differentiation in the plant.
4. Disease and Pest Control
Common diseases and pests of jasmine include stem rot, jasmine ground borer, willow hawkmoth, leaf spot disease, white rot disease, anthracnose, frosty hawkmoth, scale insects, red spider mites, and jasmine bud borer. You can purchase pesticides targeted at these diseases and pests from the flower market and follow the instructions for control.

Jasmine loves light and can be grown under full sunlight. It is not cold-resistant in winter and the temperature should be kept above 10 degrees Celsius, otherwise, the plant will enter dormancy. When the temperature is below minus 3 degrees Celsius, the plant may suffer from frost damage.
