How to water orchids best
The editor answers for netizens on how to water orchids best and the correct watering methods for green plant flower planting, next the editor will introduce.
Thousands of people, thousands of methods, tens of thousands of thoughts, there is no unified theory on how to water, only different opinions. Only the simple watering method that suits oneself and follows the nature of orchids is correct.
My watering method is:
1) The water for watering is directly tap water from the faucet, all year round, with a soft hose connected to the faucet and a flower sprayer for simplicity and convenience.
2) The time for watering. In winter, water in the morning when the sun comes out, or after 4 pm in the afternoon. In other seasons, I water before the sun comes out in the morning, or after 7 pm in the evening. During extreme heat, water after 9 pm.
Because my home has a northern enclosed balcony. I use a combination of granular and soft substrates to grow orchids.
3) The method of watering. The喷头 (sprayer) is aimed at the orchid pot and directly sprayed. I water one pot at a time, thoroughly each time, usually about 1 minute per pot. Sometimes when it feels like it hasn't been watered for a long time and it's too dry, I give it a second watering.
Basically, I water once. The water from the喷头 should be fine and dense, with pressure, and it should rinse all the leaves clean.
4) Pay attention to observation. When watering, observe how the orchid seedlings are growing, whether the pot is evenly moist or dry, and adjust the position or lighting, ventilation, etc. in a timely manner. Identify problems promptly and deal with them as soon as possible.
5) Post-watering treatment. During high temperatures, water the plants and use a small fan on the ground to assist in the evaporation of moisture from the leaves, allowing them to dry quickly.
Issues to note when watering:
1) Water generously, drenching the plant from head to toe. The pot walls, surface, substrate, and both sides of the leaves should be watered and rinsed clean.
2) Do not water halfway. If the water is not poured to the bottom and the roots stop halfway, the crystal head will not be able to find water and will become withered and black.
3) After watering in all seasons, do not expose the leaves to the sun, otherwise they may be scorched due to the lens effect formed by water droplets.
