Nest Fern Plant Introduction

The Nest Fern, also known as Bird's Nest Fern, Mountain Dew Flower, and Crown Fern, is a perennial shade-loving herbaceous ornamental leaf plant belonging to the Aspidiaceae family, Nest Fern genus. The Nest Fern often grows epiphytically on tree trunks or rocks in rainforests or seasonal rainforests. Clumps of Nest Ferns can accumulate a large amount of dead branches, leaves, bird droppings, and rainwater. These materials are transformed into humus, which can serve as nutrients for the plant itself, while also providing settlement conditions for other tropical epiphytes, such as orchids and other tropical epiphytic ferns. Its ecological habits are to thrive in high temperatures and humidity and it is not tolerant of strong sunlight.
