Phaius tankervilliae can grow up to 90 cm tall, blooming in spring with fragrant flowers that have a long blooming period. The flowers are white or light yellow on the outside, purple or ocher on the inside, with some brown or reddish-brown spots on the labellum. The petals are smaller than the sepals, and the labellum is tubular. It requires a warm, humid, and semi-shaded environment. It should be planted in a pot with fertile, loose, and well-draining humus soil. In winter, it enters a relative dormancy, keeping the potting soil slightly moist but not overwatered. Propagation is done through division and aseptic sowing. With a long blooming period and a pleasant fragrance, Phaius tankervilliae is an excellent indoor potted flower.
