Plant Introduction of Solomon's Seal

Salomon's Seal is a perennial herbaceous plant of the Asteraceae family. The seeds mature mainly from September to October, with flattened, heart-shaped, brown achenes. It prefers a warm and humid climate and is a winter annual. Whether sown in spring or autumn, it only forms a rosette of leaves in the first year, and it blooms, flowers, and sets fruit after winter. It is heat-resistant, growing normally at temperatures up to 40°C in summer, and extremely cold-resistant, with its perennial roots unaffected by temperatures as low as -29°C in winter. It thrives in fertile loam soil, is tolerant of acidic soil, but not of saline soil. It also grows well in acidic red soil, sandy soil, and clay. It is cold-tolerant and does not require frost protection in winter. The aerial parts wither, but the underground parts do not freeze.
