Wild Chrysanthemum, a perennial herb, grows 0.25-1 meter tall with underground long or short creeping stems. The flowering period is from June to November. The leaves, flowers, and the whole plant of wild chrysanthemum are used for medicinal purposes. They have a bitter, spicy, and cooling taste, which can clear heat and toxins, disperse wind and reduce fever, remove blood stasis, improve eyesight, and lower blood pressure. It is effective in preventing and treating epidemic cerebrospinal meningitis, influenza, common cold, hypertension, hepatitis, dysentery, and carbuncles. The extract of wild chrysanthemum flowers is also very effective in killing mosquito larvae and fly maggots.
