Roses belong to the Rosaceae family, subfamily Rosoideae, genus Rosa, and are deciduous shrubs with thorny stems. They have odd-pinnate compound leaves with 5-9 elliptical leaflets, margin thorns, wrinkled surfaces, and stipules mostly fused with the petioles. The flowers are solitary or in clusters, purplish-red, and fragrant. The cut flower "rose" is actually a Chinese rose, with colors ranging from pink, red, yellow, to white. Now there are many more colors, such as blue, black, green, etc. Among them, green is the rarest and most precious. The pure red "red rose" is actually a Chinese rose. Also, the rose is the city flower of Shenyang.
