Ruprecht's Honeysuckle, a deciduous shrub, has pubescent young branches and petioles, with sparse short pubescence or no hair on the branches; all the young branches, petioles, both sides of the leaves, peduncles, and bracts are sparsely covered with yellowish-brown microglands. The leaves are papery, oblong-ovate, ovate-oblong to oblong-lanceolate; the corolla is white, turning yellow later, and hairless on the outside. The fruit is orange-red, round, with elliptical, brown seeds. Flowering period is May to June, fruit maturity is July to August. It prefers sunlight, is shade-tolerant, drought-resistant, and enjoys moist conditions.
