Cymbidium lowianum, an epiphytic plant; pseudobulbs narrowly elliptical, slightly flattened, enclosed within the leaf bases. Leaves are strap-shaped, apex shortly acuminate or nearly acute; inflorescences emerge from the base of pseudobulbs, nearly erect, spreading or outward bending, racemose, floral bracts ovate-triangular, sepals and petals apple green or yellow-green, with red-brown longitudinal veins, lip yellow, blooming period April to May. High ornamental value, commonly potted for display in homes and public places; listed as a second-class protected plant in China.
