How to propagate roses quickly: sharing the lazy person's method for rose cutting and rooting.

How to propagate roses for quick rooting

This article provides an explanation on how to propagate roses quickly and share an easy method for lazy people in the green plant flower aspect. Please refer to the detailed introduction below.

Many people enjoy growing roses and propagating them through cuttings, but often encounter issues such as black stems and failure to root. Despite trying various methods, they are not successful. If you really can't propagate roses, I will teach you the simplest and most viable method.

First, we need to prepare some perlite or vermiculite, both of which are suitable. Then, we need to get some disposable transparent cups and a large tray. We select the branches of roses, preferably the branches after the flowers have bloomed, with obvious plump buds at the junction of leaves and stems. Cut the branches into segments about 10 centimeters long, remove the lower leaves, keep the top leaves, and then make a few small holes in the bottom of the disposable cups using a soldering iron or scissors. Fill the cups with perlite or vermiculite.

Then, place the cups evenly in the tray, insert the cut and trimmed rose branches into the perlite or vermiculite, and add water to the tray. Since perlite and vermiculite have excellent water absorption properties, the water will gradually be absorbed into the cups. Add water when there is no water left in the bottom tray, ensuring the perlite and vermiculite are fully saturated with water. Maintain a constant water level in the tray and place it in a well-ventilated area with diffused sunlight, allowing it to grow roots slowly.

Using this method to propagate roses is very simple. We must ensure the tray always has water and never let it dry out. The propagated roses must be exposed to light and have good ventilation. If the rose leaves look wilted during propagation, we can spray them with a fine mist from a spray bottle to let them absorb some water, ensuring they don't wilt. By doing this, the roots will grow slowly in 1-2 weeks. When you see many white roots growing on the walls of the transparent disposable cups, you can take them out normally and transfer them to new potting soil. There will be no problem with successful transplantation if the roots are well-developed before moving them, which is the most reliable method.

If you use this method, the survival rate can reach 100% as long as the branches are not too tender. Therefore, if you don't know how to propagate, you can try this method. As long as the temperature during propagation is not below 15 degrees Celsius, the survival rate is quite high.
