Those years, the roses I raised
Today, the editor introduces the topic of the roses I raised in those years, the specifics are as follows:
Raising roses, for most flower friends, may feel difficult. Where is it exactly difficult?
Such as these aspects:
1. The leaves of the roses just bought back start to turn yellow? 2. How to fertilize roses? 3. The tip of the rose leaves lose their green color, what's going on? 4. The new leaves of the rose turn yellow and wither, what's going on with that? 5. What causes the rose to drop flower buds? 6. There are many black spots on the rose leaves, how to solve them? 7. What to do if the root of the rose turns black? 8. How often should roses be watered? 9. Why do the tender tips of the roses wilt and droop?
This article will later teach you the experience of raising good roses.
If you have raised roses, I believe, you must have encountered similar problems above.
Especially, the pest and disease control, which makes people want to scratch their heads in frustration.
Why?
Because roses have a俗称, called "medicine pot"
Straightforwardly, it is prone to disease and insect infestation, which is one of the reasons why most people can't raise good roses. I remember when I first started raising roses, I was also troubled by pests and diseases.
Looking back now, the seven years of raising roses is quite challenging.
At that time, there wasn't much information about rose cultivation on the internet. I could only rely on what I thought was my interest and grope in the dark.
Probably, I am a bit stubborn, either not doing it, or trying my best to do it well once I decide to do it. In this way, I experienced a long period of "raising to death - raise again - raise to death - raise again" cycle.
I believe many flower friends are currently in this cycle...
Many times in the past, I wanted to give up raising roses, but because of my stubbornness, I persisted in the end.
In the process of repeatedly raising them, I gradually discovered that there are also methods to raising roses, which may be what is called "skilled through practice and true knowledge through familiarity."
Over the years, I have gained more and more insights into raising roses.
Last year, I wrote a series of articles from beginner to rose expert, about 100 articles. If you often pay attention to my cultivation articles, you will know.
I can confidently say that this is the first set of articles on systematic rose cultivation on the internet.
The key is that this is a set of interlocked rose cultivation article system. If you carefully read from the first to the last one, I believe you will have a significant improvement in rose cultivation.
Those years, the roses I raised
If you are interested, you can read my public account's historical articles, or search for roses on Zhihu, and the articles that come up are mostly mine.
Those years, the roses I raised
Summing up experience is to grow better roses.
Rose growers have a common hobby, which is to love showing off flowers~~
Below, I also come to show a wave of roses I have raised, beautiful things should be appreciated by everyone
Seeing these beautiful roses, you might think:
How did you do that?
Very simple, it's not that you can't raise them, but that you haven't mastered the core essence of rose cultivation. This is like choosing between two routes from Hangzhou to Beijing, one straight and one curved.
You happened to take a curved road, and although you can reach the destination in the end, it will take a lot of time and effort.
What is our purpose in raising flowers?
My experience in raising roses
Below, I will teach you how to raise good roses.
Through my years of practice and summarization, there are only three words to raise good roses:
1. Choose 2. Raise 3. Prune
1. ChooseThere is a classic saying, "Choice is greater than effort"
Straightforward translation is:
If the direction is wrong, the effort is in vain; if you are persistent in ignorance, you are wasting your time.
This is true for doing things and also for raising roses.
Think about it, if you choose a problematic rose seedling at the beginning, no matter how hard you try to take care of it, even if it can survive, it won't bloom beautiful flowers.
Many新手 friends bought rose seedlings from a certain place and ended up getting worse and worse, doubting their own ability to raise roses. Even if they manage to keep them alive, the flowers that bloom in the end are not what they wanted.
Therefore, choosing the right seedling is the first step in raising good roses, and you must remember that.
How to choose a good seedling?
When choosing a seedling, be sure to choose one with a strong root system, not just long branches. Only with a strong root system (see the picture below) can roses grow well.
In addition to choosing strong seedlings, our rose varieties are also super abundant. Choosing a rose variety that is suitable for growing in your own environment is also quite important.
For example:
If you are raising roses in a closed balcony, it is best to choose micro roses or flowering roses, these varieties have a long blooming period and the plants do not grow very large.
If you choose the wrong variety, such as climbing roses, you will find in the end that you have raised a tree and have nowhere to put it.
Also, some varieties are difficult to raise. They look very beautiful and novel, but they grow very slowly, have weak adaptability to the environment, and are prone to diseases and insect pests. These rose varieties are not suitable for新手 cultivation and are easily killed, leading to loss of confidence.
Moreover, if the lighting conditions at home are not very good, you also need to consider this when choosing rose varieties.
After choosing the variety and seedling, we will start our cultivation journey.
So, how to raise? Please continue to read below
2. RaiseThis part is mainly about cultivation management, how to do it?
Four words to summarize:
Judge the situation
That is, based on the climatic conditions of the area where you are located and the growth characteristics of roses, do management that is suitable for the time.
For example, when roses germinate in early spring, they need to consume a lot of nutrients. At this time, we need to focus on strengthening fertilization and watering to ensure sufficient nutrients and allow roses to maintain rapid growth.
When new branches of roses show flower buds, it is often the peak period of aphids, and measures to prevent aphids need to be taken.
For example, in the hot summer weather, roses easily lack water, so attention should be paid to watering in time, and in addition, pest and disease control work should also be done.
The above part is the core essence of judging the situation. Due to limited space, I will write a separate article to elaborate on this next time.
3. PruneSome people raise roses and have a dozen flowers blooming at a time.
Some people raise roses and only have two or three flowers blooming at a time.
Why is there such a big difference?
Actually, a large part of the reason is pruning.
For beginners, the first step is to keep the rose alive, and then, to aim for a better state of the rose - blooming in abundance.
To make roses bloom in abundance, the key is pruning.
Roses are very耐修剪 and need to be pruned frequently, so rose pruning has become a science.
Different people have different pruning methods, and the results of cultivation will also vary greatly.
However, in general, pruning does have its own certain rules. No matter how you prune, you can't escape the basic pruning methods and principles.
For example, after the first bloom in spring, it is necessary to prune the roses in time to promote the early opening of the second bloom.
For example, pruning during the winter dormant period of roses is the best time to adjust the rose plant shape.
Rose pruning is divided into light pruning and heavy pruning, and the corresponding growth period is different. If pruned wrong, it will cause very serious consequences, and sometimes it will even wither directly.
The above three aspects generally summarize the essence of rose cultivation. Of course, if you want to raise good roses, you also need to learn some skills.
Due to limited space, I will write another article on October 8th (the day after tomorrow) to specifically discuss this issue.
