The propagation method of rose bush by using tender branch cuttings.

Rose cutting method: cutting soft branches

A brief knowledge of green plants, introducing the explanation of rose cutting, focusing on the method of cutting soft branches. Let's understand it together.

Rose cutting is one of the commonly used propagation methods. The cuttings do not mutate, the plants do not age easily, the effect is fast, and it is easy to learn. There are also many types of cuttings, including cutting old branches, soft branches, and leaf cuttings. Some plants are suitable for cutting old branches, while most plants are suitable for cutting one-year-old branches. Depending on the season and personal circumstances, I used soft branch cuttings today, mainly because there were not many branches available this season.

Now is the season when roses are in full bloom, and it's hard to cut off some lush branches, but the season and temperature feel suitable for cutting, so I used soft branch cuttings. (I have used soft branch cuttings before and succeeded.)

I learned to cut soft branches after the flowers bloom from a friend.

1. Cut the branches after the flowers bloom, cutting four leaves from the bottom of the flower, leaving the top leaf with one leaf and the bottom three leaves.

2. Cut the bottom leaves of the branch, leaving a small amount of leaves at the top for photosynthesis, making it easier to root.

3. Use rice husk ash or self-burned ash (the ash must not be burned too much) as rice husk ash is breathable, sterile, and a good material for cutting. A friend has experimented with a 100% survival rate.

4. Use a transparent cup filled with rice husk ash and insert the plant branches. (The transparent cup is mainly for observing the rooting situation)

5. Place it in a transparent container and spray water 1-2 times a day to keep it moist.

6. The bottom of the transparent cup should have small holes to allow water to leak out after watering, and the larger container should have holes for ventilation, eliminating the need for manual ventilation. (Do not drill holes in the bottom of the large container.)

The purpose of using a large container is mainly to create a large greenhouse effect, keeping it warm and moist.
