Tilling and Cleaning the Garden

1. Remove diseased and dead branches, and dispose of diseased branches, fruits, and pest eggs by burning or transporting them out of the garden for treatment.

2. Strip off old tree bark to eliminate sources of diseases and pests.

3. Spray the branches, ground, cement pillars, and framework surfaces with a mixture of 5 degrees Baume lime sulfur and 0.2% to 0.3% laundry detergent.

4. Turn the entire garden deeply to incorporate the branches, leaves, and fruits left in the soil, which can kill some overwintering bacteria.

Strengthening Water and Fertilizer Management

1. After grape harvesting, promptly apply high-nitrogen and high-potassium fast-acting fertilizers, commonly known as "ring sun fertilizers." Generally, apply 7.5 to 10 kg of urea and 5 to 7.5 kg of potassium fertilizer per mu.

2. For grape gardens with weak growth and poor soil, apply 5% to 10% of animal manure 2 to 3 times. Meanwhile, base fertilizers should be applied promptly in autumn. Base fertilizers are generally completed by October 20th, applying 500 to 1000 kg of biochar (or commercial bio-organic fertilizers) or 2 to 3 tons of decomposed farm manure (such as cow dung, sheep dung, etc.) per mu, with an additional 30 to 40 kg of combined fertilizers.

1. After grape harvesting, promptly deal with secondary buds. Generally, at the top of the main branches, one main secondary branch is left with 5 to 7 leaves for extension, one secondary branch is left with 2 to 3 leaves for the top extension branch, and other secondary branches are left with 1 to 2 leaves for core removal.

2. For grape gardens with small, immature branches that are closely spaced and dense, it is necessary to cut 30% to 50% of the smaller, immature branches as soon as possible.

3. Strictly control the autumn lateral branches, such as "Red Earth," "Sunshine Rose," "Black Brad," and other easily cultivated varieties and grape gardens. Use a 98% solution of 500 to 750 times liquid, mixed with 21% and 3000 times of abundant boron liquid, applying 40 to 50 kg of the mixture per mu, spraying on the top of the new shoots, every 15 to 20 days, for 2 to 3 times.

Strengthening Disease and Pest Control

After grape harvesting, the main diseases are downy mildew, black spot, brown spot, and powdery mildew, primarily affecting leaves, while the main pests are cotton bollworms and oblique-striped night moths.

1. Prevent downy mildew and black spot 1 to 2 times after harvesting, generally using 50% dimethomorph 2000 times, 40% flusilazole 8000 times, 5.7% carbaryl salt 3000 times, and full-nutrient foliar fertilizers.

2. When controlling foliar diseases and pests well, spray with multiple doses of Bordeaux mixture solution carefully, applying 250 to 300 kg of the solution per mu, every 15 to 20 days, for 2 to 3 times.

Timely Removing Rainproof Film

Grapes are mainly planted in sheltered areas. The light transmission rate of the shelter film is generally around 80%, and later around 50%. Moreover, if there is insufficient light, the rainproof film should be removed promptly after harvesting. Practice has shown that grape gardens that remove the rainproof film promptly after harvesting have more than 30% more flower spikes than gardens that do not remove the film.
