Variety selection

Basin soil structure
① Container selection: Potted grapes can be used in ceramic pots, terracotta pots, plastic flowerpots, etc. In the first year, a container with a diameter of about 20-25 centimeters can be used for potted grapes, and after 2-3 years, a container with a diameter of 30-40 centimeters can be used. This can be determined based on the actual planting situation.
② Soil requirements: The soil should be loose, fertile, rich in organic matter, and calcareous. Commonly used are leaf mold soil, peat soil, garden soil, etc.
③ Soil disinfection: After mixing the potting soil, spray it evenly with a 0.1% formalin solution (500ml per cubic meter of potting soil). Then seal it with plastic film, fumigate for one day and night, remove the film, and let it dry for 3-4 days before placing it in the pot.
Shaping and pruning
① Single pole type: Suitable for small and medium-sized potted plants. In the planting year, a bamboo pole or No. 8 wire should be placed in the center of the pot, about 1 meter high. After the new shoots sprout, select a strong branch as the main vine, attach it to the bamboo pole, and pinch it when it grows to 80-90 centimeters. Leave 1-2 leaves at the top for repeated pinching.
② Fan shape: If the new shoots exceed 60 centimeters, they will be pruned and left as the trunk. In the following year, a new shoot should be left every 10-15 centimeters to be trained and tied. In the third year, one or two fruiting branches will be left on each fruiting branch to bear fruit. The new shoots and new spikes should be evenly distributed on the same plane, and the pot and the fan should increase with the growth of the tree.
Water and fertilizer management
① Fertilization: The principle of fertilizing potted grapes is to apply less and more frequently. Unfruitful potted seedlings generally start from about 20 centimeters (i.e., 6-7 leaves) and apply cake fertilizer and water every 7-10 days until the end of September. Also, to ensure the development of the fruits of potted grapes, it is best to apply once every 5 days and note that after each application of liquid fertilizer, water immediately.
② Watering: When watering, the water temperature should be close to the soil temperature in the basin. It is generally best to water before 10 a.m. or after 4 p.m. If the temperature is low in early spring, water every 2-3 days. As the temperature rises, later on, you can water every 1-2 days.
