刺芋, spiny herb, berry inverted conical shape, with 5-6 ridges, like grapes. Flowering period is summer. It has the effects of anti-inflammatory, analgesic, digestant, and stomachic. Commonly used for chronic gastritis, dyspepsia, rheumatoid arthritis; externally used for snake bites, lymphadenitis, lymph node tuberculosis. Produced in southern and southwestern Yunnan, southern Sichuan, southern Guangdong, (T-W). Also found in Sikkim, Bangladesh, northeastern India, Myanmar, Thailand, the Malayan Peninsula to Sarawak, Indonesia.
