Cactus (Ball) Magic Cloud Plant Introduction

Magic Cloud, also known as Ma Yun or Li Yun, is native to Cuba. The plant is spherical, 8 cm high and 9 cm in diameter. The areole is 4-6 cm high and 6 cm in diameter, with bristles arranged neatly in length and orange-red in color. There are 8-9 ridges. There are 7-8 radial spines, 1.5 cm long; 1 central spine, slightly longer; new spines are red, and old spines are yellowish-white. The flowers are 1.7 cm long, rose red in color. The fruit is light red or white, club-shaped, with a large tip. Magic Cloud is small and spherical, with early blooming. It is the earliest blooming among all Melocactus species. The areole of Magic Cloud is very beautiful, and the arrangement of the ball and spines is also very orderly. Although Magic Cloud blooms early and is easy to bear fruit, the current quantity is still not large. The reason is that its fruit is short and the color is not bright, often exposed for 1-2 days and then hidden in the areole, so special attention must be paid when harvesting seeds.
