The Red Spine Hundred Silk Nest is a variety of the Hundred Silk Nest, a perennial succulent plant of the Grooved宝石山 Ball Genus. It has a flat spherical shape, 4-6 cm in diameter, with a gray-green to purplish-red body, which is related to the intensity of sunlight. Mature bodies easily produce offspring balls. The spines of the Grooved宝石山 Ball Genus number 20-30, with new spines being rose-colored and old spines being reddish-brown. The flowers of the Red Spine Hundred Silk Nest are slender, with a funnel-shaped flower tube, blooming in yellow or red, rarely white, during summer. The fruit is spindle-shaped, and the seeds are dark brown. When the Red Spine Hundred Silk Nest blooms, at least half of the spherical body needs to be exposed to strong sunlight for a day to make the buds easier to bloom. If not properly cared for, the plant can easily drop its buds and fail to bloom.
