Dragon Tongue牡丹 Ariocarpus agavoides - belongs to the Cactaceae Rock牡丹 genus, native to Mexico - Tamaulipas, San Luis Potosi. It looks a bit like a cactus, but more like the Agave genus or the Haworthia genus of succulent plants, hence the name. Its small rosette-like rough dark green leaves are loosely arranged. It grows on weathered limestone rocks and on the alluvial plains formed by the erosion of these rocks, with the wild population almost extinct.
