The String of Hearts, scientific name: Rosary Vine String of Hearts, belongs to the Asclepiadaceae Ceropegia, distributed in South Africa and Zimbabwe, also known as Heart Vine, Hanging Money Plant, Wax Flower, etc. With strings of heart-shaped leaves, it is often seen as a symbol of love and easily attracts the attention of people, especially girls. In addition to the cute heart-shaped leaves, another characteristic of the mature plant is that a round tuber will grow at the base of the leaf petiole, resembling a string of beads, hence the English name Rosary Vine (Bead Vine). The plant has a trailing nature and can hang down, making it suitable for cultivation as a hanging pot plant. The leaves of the String of Hearts are heart-shaped, opposite, and about the size of a one-yuan coin (1.5 cm), with gray net-like patterns on the leaf surface and a purplish-red underside, feeling very thick and waxy. Round tubers grow in the leaf axils, known as "zero children," which serve to store nutrients, moisture, and for reproduction. In spring and summer, mature plants will bloom reddish-brown, flask-shaped flowers about 2.5 cm long, followed by sheep horn-shaped fruits. There is also a variety of String of Hearts with variegated leaves, where the leaves are interspersed with large areas of beautiful pink variegation, making it even more desirable for enthusiasts to cultivate.
