How to care for the longevity flower in summer
This article summarizes the experience of caring for longevity flowers in summer and detailed tips for plant maintenance, with the following introduction.
In summer, the flowering period of longevity flowers has passed. Some friends may still have a few blooms, but after June, they will gradually enter a dormant state and stop flowering. Caring for longevity flowers in summer is actually easier than caring for succulents or delicate flowers, and they can easily survive the summer.
During the high temperatures of summer, there are some things you can do and some you cannot do when growing potted longevity flowers to ensure they survive the summer. By autumn, they will return to normal, continue to grow, enter the vigorous growth period, and in winter, they will produce many flower buds and bloom beautifully.
So how do you care for longevity flowers during the high temperatures of summer? There are three things you should never do:
1. Do not expose to direct sunlight
In spring and winter, when the temperature is relatively mild, longevity flowers need plenty of sunlight to encourage more flower buds, lush foliage, thicker and greener leaves, sturdy stems, and more flowers. However, in summer, when the temperature rises above 30 degrees Celsius, you need to start protecting them from the sun.
Do not place them in areas with direct sunlight. Pay attention to sun protection, and if possible, use shade netting. If not, you can place them on the north-facing balcony or in a location on the balcony without direct sunlight.

2. Do not water too much or too frequently, reduce watering
When you move the longevity flower to a place without direct sunlight, you basically don't need to worry much about it, as it is very quiet in summer and does not require much disturbance or daily watering. Allowing the potting soil to dry out a bit is more beneficial for it to survive the summer. If there are a few dead or yellow leaves at the bottom, you can simply remove them.
Water the plant only when the potting soil is very dry or the foliage looks a bit wilted. In fact, it's fine to go without watering for about ten days in summer. Never water the longevity flower too much during the hot summer, and especially do not keep it outdoors in the rainy season, as this can cause waterlogging in the potting soil, leading to root rot and leaf drop, among other issues.
