How to care for succulent plants
1. Good potting soil is crucial for succulents
Although succulents can survive in sand, to make them grow more smoothly, stronger, and more beautiful, the soil is important. The potting soil should be loose, not sticky or compact, and must be nutritious, well-draining, not prone to waterlogging or compaction, and well-aerated.
It should also contain certain nutrients. Therefore, when preparing the soil, adding peat and decomposed leaf soil, some sandy soil, or some granular soil like vermiculite, perlite, or pumice stone is recommended. The soil should not clump together when squeezed and should be rich in humus, which allows succulents to grow continuously and become fatter and more beautiful.
2. Light is important for succulents
When the temperature is between 15 to 28 degrees Celsius, it is the most suitable for the growth of succulents, and it is also the time when they grow fastest. During this period, you can increase light exposure, appropriately keep them outdoors, and supplement nutrients, such as a small amount of organic fertilizer, slow-release fertilizer, or chemical fertilizer. However, it must be given in small amounts, not too much at once, and there's no need to fertilize frequently.
