How to properly care for succulent plants
For many girls, how to properly care for succulent plants and the key points of management for beginners are the related knowledge that follows, and here is a comprehensive introduction.
It is believed that most flower friends, like Flower Flower, have planted their first pot of flowers, which is the very lovely succulent plant. Succulents have always captured the hearts of thousands of flower friends with their cute appearance. However, succulent plants are not as easy to care for as flower friends imagine. It is somewhat challenging for beginner flower friends to grow succulents well. Today, Flower Flower is here to share 5 small experiences of my own in caring for succulents, hoping to help everyone!
1. Soil
Succulent plants prefer to grow in dry soil environments, with loose and breathable sandy soil being the main type, as this kind of soil has better drainage and aeration, making it more suitable for succulent growth. Also, when you buy succulent plants from the flower market, it's best to change the potting soil on a warm day, as the soil that comes with it is not very suitable for healthy growth.
2. Temperature
Another important aspect of caring for succulent plants is ensuring a suitable growth temperature. Generally, 15 to 25 degrees Celsius is the most suitable for their growth. However, as long as the temperature does not exceed 35 degrees or drop below 5 degrees, most succulent plants will not enter a dormant period and will continue to grow normally.
However, even with a suitable temperature, it is also important to ensure good ventilation when caring for succulents. Otherwise, if they grow in a stuffy and hot environment for a long time, they will become very lethargic, affecting their ornamental value.
3. Watering
Succulent leaves are thick and have a certain water storage capacity, so their water requirement is not high. Generally, they can be watered relatively frequently in spring and autumn, about once a week, once every two weeks in summer, and once a month in winter. Flower friends should also summarize their watering experience based on the actual situation of their own succulents. Signs of dehydration include withered or soft leaves, and watering thoroughly in time can help them recover slowly.

4. Light
Succulent plants also have certain requirements for light. They prefer sunny weather, and if flower friends can ensure they receive more than 8 hours of adequate sunlight every day, the succulents in their homes will grow very beautifully. Therefore, placing them on a south-facing balcony or windowsill for care during the spring, autumn, and winter seasons is sufficient.
However, in the summer, it is necessary to provide some shade for them, as too much sunlight can burn their leaves, preventing the succulents from growing healthily, or even threatening their lives.
5. Regularly changing potting soil
When caring for succulent plants, we can choose some small and exquisite but breathable pots, such as ceramic or tile pots. Flower friends with conditions can also use purple sand pots, which have better breathability and ornamental value.
