What are the care methods for succulent plants?
The editor introduces you to the care methods for succulent plants and the skills for beginners to grow succulents in terms of the knowledge of flowers and plants. Details are as follows:
It is believed that most flower enthusiasts, like Hua Hua, start with a very cute succulent plant as their first pot, which has captured the hearts of countless flower enthusiasts with its adorable appearance. However, succulent plants are not as easy to care for as flower enthusiasts imagine. It is still a bit challenging for新手 flower enthusiasts to grow them well. Today, Hua Hua comes to share 5 of my own experiences in caring for succulents, hoping to help everyone!
1. Soil
Succulent plants prefer to grow in dry soil environments, mainly loose and breathable sandy soil, as this type of soil has better drainage and breathability, making it more suitable for succulent growth. Also, when you buy succulent plants from the flower market, it's best to change the potting soil on a warm day, as the soil that comes with it is not very suitable for healthy growth.
2. Temperature
One of the important aspects of caring for succulent plants is to ensure a suitable growth temperature. Generally speaking, 15 to 25 degrees Celsius is the most suitable for their growth. However, as long as the temperature does not exceed 35 degrees or drop below 5 degrees, most succulent plants will not enter a dormant period and will continue to grow normally.
However, in addition to ensuring a suitable temperature, it is also necessary to ensure a good ventilation environment when caring for succulents. Otherwise, they will become very lethargic when grown in a stuffy and hot environment, affecting their ornamental value.
3. Water
Succulent leaves are relatively thick and have a certain water storage capacity, so their water requirements are not high. Generally, you can water them more frequently in spring and autumn, once a week, about once every half month in summer, and once a month in winter. Flower enthusiasts should also summarize their watering experience based on the actual situation of their succulents. Signs of dehydration include wilted and soft leaves, and watering thoroughly can help them recover slowly.

4. Light
Succulent plants also have certain requirements for light. They prefer sunny weather, and if flower enthusiasts can ensure they receive more than 8 hours of adequate sunlight every day, the succulents at home will grow very beautifully. Therefore, in spring, autumn, and winter, you can simply place them on a south-facing balcony or windowsill for care.
However, in summer, you need to provide appropriate shading, as too much sunlight can burn their leaves, preventing healthy growth and even threatening their lives.
5. Regularly change potting soil
When caring for succulent plants, we can choose some small and exquisite but breathable pots, such as ceramic pots and tile pots. Those with conditions can also use purple sand pots, which have better breathability and ornamental value.
