Fleshy Fanny Crystal Shoes Plant Introduction

Fanny, also known as Crystal Shoes, belongs to the small fleshy cone variety, usually green to bright green throughout the year, not prone to clustering. The plant surface is densely covered with small thorns, with saddle-shaped leaves and a slight central seam. The succulent leaves are green to bright green, and the older plants will form clusters. The flowers bloom in the central seam, opening at night with a deep orange color, small in shape, and the plants require cross-pollination.

Adult Fanny sheds once or twice a year, and if not well cared for, it can die entirely or lose one head. It has a slight dormancy in summer and grows in other seasons. The flowering period is in autumn. The shedding process is similar to that of stone flowers, but the shedding period is longer. During shedding, more exposure to sunlight and less water are required, being careful not to sunburn. By the end of July, it will basically finish shedding. If it is watered excessively during this period, the shedding period will extend throughout the summer. Fanny's shedding is the slow drying of the outer old skin, which provides nutrients to the new plant. When the old skin is as thin as wings, it is considered fully shed. Only at this time, a small amount of water should be given, and the plant will recover and break through the old skin.
