First, we need to prepare some vermiculite and then a glass container, preferably a deep one. After disinfecting the vermiculite, put it into the container, and insert the broken succulent stem into the vermiculite, leaving only the top leaves. Before inserting, it's best to trim the broken part of the stem into a slant, which can provide a larger contact area for water absorption.
After inserting the succulent stem, we need to water the vermiculite and keep it moist. To prevent rot, we can add a little bit of carbendazim to the water, which can effectively inhibit the growth of bacteria. Then, place it in a well-lit environment for maintenance. In about a month, roots will start to grow.
After a month, we can dig the succulent out of the vermiculite. At this point, there will be roots growing on the stem, and old roots in the middle of the succulent. If we want the bottom of the succulent to root, we place the stem back into the vermiculite, and this time we can insert it more shallowly, just enough for the bottom to touch the vermiculite. After another month, the bottom will also root, and then we can repot it.
