Chinese Name: Pink Leaf莲花Alias: Latin Name: Echeveria gibbiflora f. metallicaFamily and Genus: Crassulaceae, Echeveria GenusDistribution of OriginPink Leaf Plant Introduction
Pink Leaf is a succulent plant of the Echeveria genus in the Crassulaceae family. It is a variety of a cultivar, with an unknown origin. The plant is a perennial succulent herb, a medium to small-sized variety. The succulent leaves are arranged in a loose rosette shape. The pink leaves are concave inward with distinct folds, and under strong light or large temperature differences, the leaves will display a beautiful pink color. Under weak light, the leaf color is light red and green, the leaves become elongated, and the color turns slightly green. The leaf surface is smooth and does not easily accumulate water.
The leaves have a slight white powder. Pink Leaf needs sufficient sunlight for the leaf color to be vibrant and the plant shape to be relatively compact and beautiful. After many years of clustering, the plant will be very spectacular, especially the old stakes that have been pruned for many years. Pink Leaf has a cluster inflorescence with pink flowers, similar to the flower shape of most Echeveria species.
Pink Leaf requires plenty of sunshine, a cool and dry environment, can tolerate semi-shade, fears waterlogging, and dislikes hot and humid conditions. It has the habit of growing in cool seasons and dormant in high summer temperatures. From September of each year to June of the following year is the growing period of the plant (the growing period varies depending on the environment of the plant enthusiasts). Insufficient light will cause the plant leaves to elongate, and the pink color of the leaves will fade slowly; while plants growing in sufficient sunlight will have a short and stocky shape, with leaves arranged tightly.
