The Dahua Damo Green Pagoda prefers a sunny, warm, and dry environment, is not cold-resistant, dislikes waterlogging, high humidity, excessive heat, and excessive shade, and is drought-tolerant and semi-shaded, with summer high temperatures in dormant or semi-dormant states. Cultivation tips: the optimal growth temperature is 15-25 degrees, with winter temperatures not lower than 5 degrees;
Soil mixing: A mixture of peat, vermiculite, and perlite can be used, or a mixture of garden soil, coarse sand, or vermiculite (each 2 parts) and leaf mold soil (1 part), mixed evenly, and adding a small amount of bone meal and chicken manure as a base fertilizer. Personally, because I change the potting soil every year, I don't need to fertilize. Friends who don't change the soil can make their own fertilizer using orange peels, in a larger mineral water bottle, soak in water for half a month, and then water the plants, which I find to have a fresh and pleasant smell. During the growing period; water thoroughly after it dries, during the summer dormant period, it should be placed in a ventilated, cool, well-lit area without direct sunlight, and no need to water excessively to prevent rot.
Propagation: Main methods include division, cutting, and seeding. Division can be combined with spring potting changes. The method is to separate the densely growing plants into groups of 3-4, then directly pot them. Cuttings can also be taken from robust and full top branches during the growing season and inserted into sandy soil. Keep the potting soil slightly moist, and roots will form in about 20 days. Seeding is carried out from April to May, with seeds sown under conditions of about 20°C, and seeds will germinate 10-16 days after sowing, followed by normal management after germination.
