About Rosima kk and the three known Rosima variants, Echeveria longissima var aztatlensis Rosima variant a, Echeveria longissima var brachyantha Rosima variant b, Echeveria longissima or Echeveria longissima var longissima Rosima original species, all known by flower friends!

However, many flower friends still confuse the definition of the so-called round-leaf Rosima and the original Rosima.

In the ICN data, there are a total of two types of Rosima, namely Echeveria longissima var aztatlensis Rosima variant a and Echeveria longissima or Echeveria longissima var longissima Rosima original species. Actually, looking at the flower colors of both, you can tell that the two plants are indeed naturally variant relationships (the flower colors of both are exactly the same) as shown in the figure below:

Then there is the kk's Echeveria longissima var brachyantha Rosima variant b, with different flower colors and inflorescences:

Dwarf Rosima is the parent of most hybrid descendants in the Rosima family, and Rosima variant b is more likely to inherit the red-backed blood spot traits of Rosima to the offspring. Let's first briefly introduce the three natural variants of Rosima. It must be stated that all three natural variants of Rosima are original species, namely the so-called "original Rosima."

First, Echeveria longissima var aztatlensis Rosima variant a is the most complex and variable cultivated variant in the Rosima family. According to its traits, it can be divided into three types:

1. The most familiar Rosima variant a Echeveria longissima var aztatlensis has a medium leaf width among the three Rosima traits.

2. Also widely known as round-leaf Rosima, it is essentially a type of Rosima variant a Echeveria longissima var aztatlensis. If we have to assign it a Latin name, it can be Echeveria longissima var aztatlensis var latifolia or Echeveria longissima var aztatlensis var rotundifolia, which is the wide-leaf Rosima variant a or round-leaf Rosima variant a, most traits similar to Rosima variant a, but the leaf width is enhanced and tends to be round.

3. The third type is the least familiar narrow-leaf Rosima variant a, opposite to the round-leaf Rosima, it tends to have narrower leaves, also a type of Rosima variant a. If we have to assign it a Latin name, it can be Echeveria longissima var aztatlensis var Egeria, which is the narrow-leaf Rosima.

In summary, from the inflorescence and flower shape, the three Rosima variant a have the same inflorescence and flowers. These three Rosima variant a also share common features: easy to bloom, easy to cluster, and easy to propagate from leaves. However, due to the high degree of trait variation and low difficulty, they are not commonly used as parents for hybridization.

Meanwhile, the traits summarized above are three typical features and extremes of the gradual traits of Rosima variant a. In reality, the traits of Rosima variant a are gradual, which can be between round-leaf Rosima and common Rosima, or between common Rosima and pointed-leaf Rosima.

Next is Rosima or the so-called 'original Rosima' Echeveria longissima or Echeveria longissima var longissima. Because the original Rosima is more difficult to propagate from leaves and does not cluster easily in nature, it is rarely used as a parent for hybridization.

The original Rosima also has round-leaf traits (but not round-leaf Rosima), and a distinct feature is that the original Rosima has lower environmental requirements for blooming, easier to bloom than other Rosima, and the front of the leaves is also easy to have blood spots, which distinguishes it from other Rosima.

There will also be some different individuals within the original Rosima variety, such as narrow-leaf plants:

And leaf growth spiral plants:

The inflorescence type is the same as Rosima variant a, a typical Rosima inflorescence:

Next is the excellent hybrid parent Echeveria longissima var brachyantha Rosima variant b. Because the traits of variant b are stable and easy to propagate, it is often used as a parent for Rosima hybrid descendants. Also, due to its leaf traits being 'round-leaf,' some flower friends mistakenly take it for round-leaf Rosima.

Different from other Rosima, Rosima variant b has completely different flower colors from other Rosima, and the leaves are relatively slender, the center of the leaves is concave, and the leaf back is easy to have blood spots.

Meanwhile, there are also gradual traits in Rosima variant b, with some plants having slender leaves and some Rosima individuals tending towards round leaves as follows:

So that's all the plants in the Rosima family. It is worth mentioning that within each Rosima variant, there will be gradual traits in individuals of the same variety, from pointed leaves to round leaves, from narrow leaves to wide leaves, and there is also a less common hybrid descendant that is easily confused with pointed-leaf Rosima variant a, which is a hybrid descendant of Rosima and Beautiful Lily as shown in the figure below:
