Yin Yue Yu - Lithops aucampiae ssp. euniceae v. fluminalis
Collection Number: C054
Original Place: South Africa
The Yin Yue Yu series of Ri Lun Yu is called Liu Shui Ri Lun Yu due to its beautiful flowing patterns (personally, I think C48 has a stronger sense of flowing). With the introduction of Japanese cultivated Lithops in recent years, Yin Yue Yu has been further divided into window-type and line-type varieties. Actually, both forms appear when sown in large quantities, and there is no difference between them; it entirely depends on personal preference. The patterns themselves have no standards; human hearts are the standard. Each breeder will cultivate in the direction of their preferences, selecting Lithops with preferred patterns as the parent plants, continuously purifying and stabilizing them, which is a long-term process and a great joy in the cultivation of Lithops.
Getting back to the topic, like all Ri Lun Yu series Lithops, Yin Yue Yu is easy to raise, light-loving, relatively water-loving, and does not easily become leggy, making it one of the preferred varieties for balcony cultivation. It is often compared to C48: C54 has a darker color, C48 has a reddish tint, and the difference becomes more obvious as they mature. The pattern's three-dimensionality of C54 is not as strong as that of C48, but it is more delicate, and the differences become easily noticeable with experience. It is one of the varieties that collectors of Lithops should not miss.
