Yanrihui is a perennial succulent herbaceous plant, also known as Qingshengjin. It has many succulent leaves, forming a rosette-shaped basal leaf cluster. The leaves are flat and ovate, with new leaves generally light yellow and the center light green, while older leaves have reduced yellow color. In summer, it is almost entirely deep green, and in autumn and winter, the green fades, and the variegation becomes less distinct. Under sufficient light, the edges will show a range from orange-red to peach-red, with mature plants diameter about 10-15 centimeters. It easily produces offsets, which can be removed, dried for a few days, and then planted to become new plants.
Yanrihui is native to the Canary Islands in the Atlantic Ocean, enjoys sunlight, and undergoes significant color changes. This variety is often confused with Canlan (Aeonium percarneum f. variegata), but they are actually two different varieties. Canlan has wider and thicker leaves, with mature plant sizes reaching up to 20-30 centimeters, and the variegation is distinct.
Yanri伞 (Aeonium arboreum f. variegata) has longer and thinner leaves with distinct variegation, and its overall shape is similar to that of Heishoufa.
