The FireBush Cherry is a deciduous shrub or small tree that can reach up to 7 meters in height, without thorns; its young branches are cylindrical, purplish-red, and covered with light yellow villi; the bark peels off in flakes, leaving distinct traces after falling. The leaves are elliptical or elliptically oblong, with flowers singly at the tips of short branches, petals are obovate, light red; the pome is oblong, deep yellow, glossy, the flesh is woody, slightly sour and astringent, aromatic, with a short peduncle. The flowering period is April, and the fruiting period is September-October. It prefers sunlight but also tolerates semi-shade. It has strong adaptability, cold and drought resistant. It is not strict about soil requirements, generally can be cultivated in well-drained areas, but dislikes low-lying and saline-alkaline soil. It has a strong germination force and can be pruned.
